Grant’s Nursery

We loved putting together Grant’s nursery. Keep in mind, this is a small room. The smallest in our home. Squeezing everything we wanted into 10×10 space was not an easy feat. But we are really happy with how it turned out.

The amazing photographer who did Grant’s newborn pictures also snapped some of his room. He has a wide-angle lens, so don’t let the pictures fool you into thinking this room is big. It’s smaller than some people’s’ closets. But perfect sized for a little guy!

We did three walls in our favorite gray paint and one wall in navy.

The light fixture is from Barn Light Electric. The rug is from Overstock.

We got his crib and rocker from Land of Nod. They were something of splurges but we both loved them. The crib is the Anderson Walnut Crib and it is gorgeous in real life.

I may have obsessed over the sheets. I fell in love with them, as well as a set of gray stripes [both from Land of Nod, but neither is online anymore].

E_002The rocker is the Joya in heather gray. I love the small footprint of the rocker. Very important in such a small room. The arms are very comfortable for nursing or holding. But if you are looking for a super cushy rocker, then this is not it. Although I have fallen asleep in it many [many] times, it is not really ideal for that. The reading light next to it is from Urban Outfitters.

E_100We used a galvanized tub [clearance at Crate and Barrel] to put his books and stuffed animals in.

Andy and I had a blast creating this gallery wall for above the crib. The prints are mainly free printables we found online. The G is from Hobby Lobby.

E_083Moving to the other side of the room.

The dresser is actually my childhood dresser. It’s solid wood and I was thrilled it fit so well in this room. For now it just holds extra diapers but maybe it will grow with Grant.

The Tallest Tree are stacking blocks we bought for Grant when we were in San Francisco over the summer. We were so excited for our little nugget to come we couldn’t wait to buy him gifts 🙂

E_093Next to the door Andy installed a little coat hook bar like the one in our foyer. Setting on it is a picture of one of Grant’s namesakes, his great-grandpa Paul. He often wore a hat like the one in the picture, so when I saw a similar one on sale at Baby Gap I had to get it! We also hung up the first piece of clothing we bought for him when we knew he was a boy.

His changing table is an IKEA hack. Andy stained wood and “wrapped” it around the piece to give it a more custom look. We keep diapers and stuff like that in the bins. I use one of the shelves to show off his shoes, keep pacifiers in a Ball jar and keep his baby book somewhere I won’t lose it.

The mirror was a clearance find from Anthropologie! $20 – can’t beat it!E_107There you have it!
